Finasteride

Finasteride is an antiandrogen; it is used in benign prostatic hyperplasia in low doses and prostate cancer in higher doses. Research made on Finasteride in May 2008 tells us that it can be used to reduce prostate cancer by thirty percent. It is used in many medical applications like used with doxazosin therapy in the reduction of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). Adding to all these applications it is also used in many countries to reduce the baldness in men.

Finasteride was allowed to the market in the year 1992, for using it in the enlargement of prostate. Later, study on one milligram of Finasteride brought out a new thing that it is used for hair growth in the men, who are suffering from hair loss. Researches were successfully completed on Finasteride by United Nations Food and Drug Administration, which declared Finasteride as a treatment to hair loss for men in the year 1997. It was sold by the Merck with brand name Propecia.

Usage of Finasteride resulted in many other side effects like breast gland enlargement and many others. To avoid these side effects Swedish Medical agency researched on Finasteride and declared that using of Finasteride will lead to persistent side effects in sex. The Swedish agency out listed the side effects that occur even after stopping usage of Finasteride. Swedish Medical Products Agency conducted researches on Finasteride and declared the information about it in the year 2008 December.

Finasteride is not developed for the women. Women, who used this product will have pregnancy problems. If the pregnant women use this Finasteride tablets, it will effects on the baby. It mostly side effects on the Male baby. Even exposure to the tablets is not allowed to the pregnant women as it causes birth defects to the baby’s.

Propecia is developed for the hair growth in the men. It was developed in the year 1997 by using Finasteride. People who used this product resulted in a positive manner by hair growth in the men and some did not lose hair after using this product.

Women who used this product resulted in many side effects like defect in baby, pregnancy problems. Even to the exposure of Propecia pills affected the women a lot in many ways. However, it is made only for men. Though it can control hair loss in women too, but it has many side effects in using it.

Many sports men stopped this product usage that used it for hair loss control. Later it was banned in some countries due its side effects. Propecia will increase the levels of testosterone in the human body which results in more negative effects on it. Many Companies outside the United States are manufacturing this product Finasteride and distributing them to all over the world.

Finasteride affected blood donations, as people who are involved in blood donations are restricted to take blood from others.

Finally, it was intended for Men and not for Women. Even though it worked for women, but it has many side effects.
