Stop worrying about stop thinning of hair
Earlier thinning of hair was a concern for those who were on the wrong side of thirty. These days, stress, pollution, voluntary hair torture, and a whole gamut of things can cause thinning of hair, much earlier that we would imagine or prefer. The scientific term for thinning of hair is Alopecia or Baldness and it can occur in just about any part of the body. Not the palms or the feet though!
Now, alopecia can be a disease and in some cases, it may even be genetic. However, it is more commonly due to medical side effects or an unhealthy diet. The bad news is that if you start to lose hair rapidly, then it may signify underlying causes and the good news is that if you act promptly, you can stop thinning hair.
If you are experiencing the initial stages of Alopecia, then you can start out by using some natural methods like being on a healthy diet, massaging the scalp with oils that promote hair growth and ensuring that the body gets adequate doses of vitamins. However, begin by stop worrying about it.
If you have passed the initial stages, even then you can stop thinning hair. There are medications and chemicals that can promote hair growth. It is advisable that you consult a good cosmetologist though. Men can opt for tailor made treatments like, Finastride or laser phototherapy. Each of these targets the hormone DHT that weakens the hair follicles. External lotions, such as Minioxidil and dermabrasion gel, can also be used.
To stop thinning hair women can choose from steroid injections, Immunotherapy, UV light treatment or local application creams and potions such as, steroid creams or tablets, Minioxidil, or Dithranol cream.
However, if not expensive, each of these treatments can leave behind scars or serious side effects. Worse still, the trend may re appear after a year or so. Thus, it is advised that you take the help of your cosmetologist to clear the air before rushing headlong into anything that makes tall promises saying, stop thinning hair.
One always has the options of getting a plastic surgery or wearing a wig. Better still, sporting a bald look is already a huge fashion statement amongst men, and for the women out there; if you can dare to bare (your scalp) then go ahead and let the world watch you with awe. If Persis Khambata could carry it off so can the rest of us!
